NEWS DUMP 2/7/2012
Hello readers. Sorry I didn’t update Monday, I was too busy sitting in the fetal position in my room screaming “WHY TOM, WHY?!?” while visions of insufferable Giants fans danced through my head. But I’m back now, and ready to live life again.
- As a long-suffering Boston fan, the Patriots loss crushed me. But wouldn’t you know it, my spirits were lifted when I learned that TLC was making a Jersey Shore-style show about the women of South Boston called Southie Pride. Here’s hoping it resembles the above parody as closely as possible.
- In premium cable news, Paz de la Huerta is officially not returning to Boardwalk Empire. This isn’t huge news, as her character ran away in the second half of the season, but I couldn’t resist posting the news, as it gives me an excuse to link to her now-defunct parody Twitter account.
- And finally, we’re happy to report that NBC has finally gotten some good ratings. Not only was Super Bowl 46 the most-watched television event ever, but their endless promotions for Smash and The Voice appeared to pay off in a big way, with both shows posting solid ratings. Now if only some of those ratings points could be transferred to their Thursday night lineup.
